After two years of experience with Mainframe COBOL applications, Jan became an expert systems specialist in the early nineties. His first specialization was the AionDS tool, which evolved later into Aion. He moved to the United States in 1998. In early 2007, Jan joined Corticon as a Field Architect and Principal Technical Consultant. He quickly became an expert in Corticon BRMS.
During his time at Corticon (and through acquisition, Progress Software) Jan trained about two hundred business analysts and technical specialists for modeling rules in Corticon BRMS. He also worked on large applications — including design, scoping, architecture, implementation, training, mentoring and support.
For the past twenty years he has worked on many different solutions in a plethora of industries including insurance, manufacturing, banking and health care.
Jan holds a Master of Science in Mathematics from the University of Utrecht in The Netherlands. Upon starting his career in IT after college, he became certified in COBOL and soon after became involved with expert systems.
Jan lives near Washington Dulles Airport, the Virginia gateway to the rest of the world. In his free time he is actively involved as a volunteer for USA Swimming as well as his hometown recreational summer swimming league.
